Anchor: Construction well underway now on a new $52 million Wellness and Aquatic complex at Southwestern College. Dr. Nish: We will have the court activities, the fitness rooms, we will have 3 pools two are Olympic size pools. Anchor: Over the next two weeks hundreds of trucks will bring dirt to the college’s vacant corner, the lot right at Otay Lakes Rd. Once complete the college and the City of Chula Vista will have a a state of the art Wellness Center. The facilities will be available to the public through memberships that people will be able to buy. The facility will replace the districts aging gym and pools, which will be demolished this summer to make way for a new math, science and engineering complex.
