TRAGEDY AT A – KANSAS CITY- WATER PARK… THE “SCHLITTER BAHN” REMAINS CLOSED TODAY — AFTER A -10- YEAR-OLD BOY DIED THIS WEEKEND — ON A RIDE THAT’S BILLED AS THE “WORLD’S LARGEST WATER SLIDE”. THE “VERRUCKT” HAD BEEN BEEN DELAYED SEVERAL TIMES — FOR REDESIGNS AND SAFETY CONCERNS — BEFORE IT OPENED LAST YEAR. IT’S BILLED AS THE “WORLD’S LARGEST WATER SLIDE”. THE BOY — IS IDENTIFIED AS “CALEB SCHWAB”… THE SON OF KANSAS LAWMAKER – SCOTT SCHWAB-. HIS FAMILY WAS TAKING PART IN A SPECIAL EVENT FOR STATE LEGISLATORS AND LOCAL ELECTED OFFICIALS. WITNESSES TOLD OUR SISTER STATION — THEY SAW THE BOY COME DOWN THE FIRST STEEP DROP AND BECOME AIRBORNE… THEN — HE HIT THE “SAFETY NETTING”. SEVERAL GUESTS SAY — THE “STRAPS” ON THE RAFT WERE NOT WORKING PROPERLY.
