Step Up: High Water | Dance Tutorial | Odalie’s Solo


♪♪ What’s up, guys?
My name is Jade Chynowethand I play Odalie
on “Step Up: High Water.”
Everyone was feeling iced out
throughout this episode,
especially our girl Odalie.So, we thought we would
show you guys some moves that emphasize power,
resilience, and vulnerability. ♪♪ ♪♪ Let’s hit it from the top. You are gonna start off
in a squat with your elbows
on your knees and your head down. One head tilt on two, three,
go right foot, left foot. Arm, up. Contract up
from your stomach first. Four, five, six,
seven, eight. One, press, two, three,
four and five, six, seven and eight
and one. When you look forward,
it’s gonna ignite your body roll down. One, look, two,
three, four. Still in relevé,
then forced arch. Five, and when you turn,
your left arm is in a bent half-circle and you’re gonna grab
your right leg underneath with a flexed foot. This is your position
in the turn. Five, turn, six,
seven, eight and one. Two, you’re gonna switch,
three, four. And you’re on forced arch
with those feet so it still looks pretty. And then you’re gonna slide,
five, six. You’re gonna walk
to the back. Good, let’s try that again
from the top. Five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three,
four and five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three, four and five, six, seven,
eight and one. Look, two, body roll. Five, six, seven, eight. And one, two, three, four,
five, six, seven, to the back. You’re gonna prep like
you’re about to do a big jump. K, let’s try that
with music. ♪♪ ♪♪ I feel like you guys
killed it, so we’re gonna keep
pushing forward. So, you just prepped
on eight. You’re gonna go one, two,
and your position in the air
is both of your feet. You know when, like,
little kids do, like, this little move? It’s like that, but both
of your arms are back. In the air. We’re gonna accomplish it,
don’t worry. Seven, eight, one, two,
three, four. Then you’re gonna do
an inverted fan kick. Five, six, seven, eight. Then freestyle, freestyle,
freestyle, freestyle. Great, you guys did it. Let’s piece it again
from the top. With counts. Five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three, four and five, six,
seven, eight. One, two, three, four,
and five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three, four,
five, turn, six, left, right. And one, two,
switch, switch, five, six, new part. One, two, three, four,
five, six, seven, eight. Improv, dance for life, try new things. Okay, let’s try it
from the top with music. I think you guys can do it,
so let’s hit it. ♪♪ ♪♪ You guys looked wonderful.
